A sertanejo (Brazilian country) duo from Belo Horizonte with 34 years on the road. Brothers Frederico and Cristhiano Nunes have sung together since 1992.
Two brothers who lived sertanejo from the inside
Sons of the viola player and songwriter Afonso “Tumerê”, Fred e Cris were mentored by Leandro & Leonardo and by Daniel, opened for Chitãozinho & Xororó, Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano, Sérgio Reis, Almir Sater and Zé Ramalho, and took the music of Minas Gerais to Spain, Italy and France.
- 1992
Aged 15 and 11, they take the stage and get their first story in the Estado de Minas newspaper.
- 1998
A Warner record deal. The Hoje em Dia headline: “Minas duo replaces Leandro & Leonardo”.
- 2005–2008
Fred in Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano’s band, Cris with Wanessa Camargo. Both appear in the film “2 Filhos de Francisco”.
- 2014
Finalists at SBT’s Festival Sertanejo.
- 2026
They release “Amar por Dois”, the first track of their new album, and record their 34th-anniversary show live.
Quintal, the show
A show that feels like a Minas Gerais backyard: voices, guitars, accordion and the audience all around, with the city behind.
- A stage in the round, with the audience close to the musicians.
- About 25 songs, half originals and half sertanejo hits.
- Fred e Cris on vocals and guitar, with bass, accordion, keyboards, drums and guitars.
- The 34th-anniversary show, for about 150 guests, was recorded in audio and video.
